Theatre 33 at Willamette University is a professional new play development company that exclusively produces new plays by Oregon/Northwest playwrights. In production, the company collaborates with in-resident playwrights and employs one of the most robust play development processes in the country. Theatre 33 produces seven new plays each season, three full workshop productions and 3 Pop-up staged readings in an annual New Play Summer Festival, and one full production in December. The Festival also features an online Introduction to Playwriting course and offers full scholarships to rural and underserved Oregon School students from all over Oregon.
