Salem Art Association & Salem Art Fair & Festival
Once home to the Bush family’s farm equipment, the Bush Barn Art Center in Salem is a renovated historic building now housing two contemporary exhibition galleries, and a consignment and rental gallery. The Camas Gallery features the work of over 150 artists from the Pacific Northwest and beyond. A.N. Bush Gallery presents major exhibitions of regional, national and international artists. The Focus Gallery is a more intimate exhibit space that showcases the finest contemporary work being made by artists living in the Salem area. The Salem Art Fair & Festival is one of Oregon’s premier cultural events and is the largest juried art festival of its kind in the state. Held the third weekend in July and set among historic oak trees, the Art Fair’s Artist Marketplace features over 200 of the top fine artists and craftspeople from around the country. Art from a wide variety of mediums include painting, ceramics, glass, jewelry, wood, photography and fiber. Performing art is provided with 50 free performances by regional and national acts.

Confederated Tribes of the Grand Ronde Pow-Wow
The Confederated Tribes of the Grand Ronde represent native peoples from the Umpqua, Molalla, Rogue River, Kalapuya and Chasta regions. The tribes annual Pow Wow and Pow Wow singers are very important in the Native American culture. Without them there would be no dancing. The songs are of many varieties, from religious to war to social and hold special meaning to those who know the song. Dancers are an important part of the life of the American Indian. Most dances seen at Pow Wows today are social dances which might have had different meanings in earlier days. The outfits worn by the dancers, like the styles of clothing today evolve over time, it is not a stagnant culture, but a vibrant and changing way of life. Visitors to the Pow Wow learn about the tribes culture and sense of community. Many visitors are touched by the deep meaning and beauty of this Pow Wow.

Antique Powerland Museum, Brooks
Antique Powerland Museum is a power equipment heritage site established by a group of enthusiasts dedicated to the preservation, restoration and demonstration of steam powered equipment, antique farm machinery and implements. This site interprets the heritage of the agricultural industry in regards to the apparatus used to plant, harvest and process crops. The Antique Powerland site is home to a diverse set of museums and heritage clubs with activities related to blacksmithing, fire apparatus, electric railroads, miniature railroading, Caterpillar equipment, antique cars and motorcycles, early day trucks, large steam engines, steam operated cranes and model railroading. The Annual Great Oregon Steam-Up event is held the last weekend of July and first weekend of August.

Champoeg State Heritage Area, Saint Paul
Champoeg is the site where Oregon’s first provisional government was formed by a historical vote in 1843. This heritage area also features a unique combination of history, nature and recreation with interactive living history programs, camping opportunities, walking and cycling paths, and the Historic Butteville Store founded in 1863 which is considered the oldest operating store in Oregon.
