Intern Opportunities

Overview
The Travel Salem Intern Program is targeted toward students who are interested in a full-time career in tourism, meeting planning, communications, marketing, or business. The internships enhance the students' education and provide practical skills that will prepare them for a rewarding future. Travel Salem’s internships are offered year round.

Travel Salem assumes no liability for the actions of the student during their internship.

Internship Definition
The National Society for Experiential Education defines an internship as "a carefully monitored work or volunteer experience in which an individual has intentional learning goals and reflects actively on what he or she is learning throughout the experience.”

Criteria

  • Due to a potential conflict of interest, students who have already secured an internship with another DMO or city may not be eligible.
  • Priority will be given to applicants that are enrolled in a degree-seeking undergraduate or graduate level program (entering junior or senior year).
  • Internships require a commitment from Travel Salem as well as the student. 
  • Internships are unpaid.
